Quotes, Payment & Damage Deposit
All quotes provided by Higher Group are valid for 60 days. To secure your booking, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required. The balance is due 14 days prior to your scheduled hire date.
A 10% refundable damage deposit will also be applied to your final invoice. This will be refunded within 3 business days after pickup/return, pending assessment of all items.
Please note:
- All pricing is inclusive of GST.
- Additional or last-minute items will be invoiced separately.
- Payments can be made via bank transfer, credit/debit card, or cash.
Hire Duration & Collection Options
Standard hire includes:
- Delivery the day prior to your event
- Collection the day after
Click & collect is available Monday to Friday, 10am–2pm, and must be booked in advance. Pickup outside these hours is strictly by prior arrangement.
We currently operate within Melbourne and surrounding regions. If you're located interstate, please contact us directly for availability.
Cancellations & Rescheduling
- Cancellations made within 14 days of the event will incur 100% of the hire fee.
- Cancellations made more than 14 days prior will forfeit the deposit only.
- Requests to change the event date must be made at least 30 days in advance, and are subject to availability.
All cancellations or rescheduling requests must be made in writing via email.
Changes to Hire Items
You may update or adjust your booking as follows:
- Large items (e.g., bars, tables, feature pieces): changes permitted up to 4 weeks prior
- Smaller items (e.g., cutlery, signage, plinths): changes permitted up to 2 weeks prior
All additions are subject to availability. We are unable to offer refunds or credits for items removed after the cutoff dates.
Delivery & Collection
Delivery fees vary depending on your location and hire date. This will be outlined in your quote.
If you're collecting or returning your order yourself, this must be done during our designated hours, and with prior booking.
Damage, Loss & Waiver
Once in your care, you're responsible for all hired items. If any item is damaged, lost or stolen, we will charge either a repair or full replacement fee, as assessed.
If you opted into a damage waiver, this covers minor wear and tear but not negligence, loss, or misuse.
In the event of damage, your damage deposit will be applied first. Any outstanding costs will be invoiced.
Use & Care of Hired Items
All hired pieces remain the property of Higher Group at all times. Items must be used only for their intended purpose and returned in the condition they were delivered.
It is your responsibility to:
- Ensure items are handled safely
- Keep items protected from weather, damage, or misuse
Custom pieces and styled setups must be returned as instructed.
Liability & Safety
Higher Group accepts no liability for injury, loss, or damage that occurs once items are in your possession.
You agree to indemnify Higher Group for any costs or claims resulting from misuse, unsafe conditions, or client negligence.
Force Majeure
We are not responsible for any delay due to events beyond our control (e.g. extreme weather, natural disaster, major traffic incident, theft, government restrictions, etc.).
